RT5870 is a glass microfiber reinforced PTFE composite material designed primarily for precision strip line and microstrip line circuit applications.
Randomly oriented microglass fibers provide good uniformity in the dielectric constant of this material.
The dielectric constant of RT5870 laminates is consistent from panel to panel and is a constant over a wide frequency range. The low dissipation factor extends the application of RT5870 laminates to the Ku-band and upper frequency bands.
RT5870 material is easy to cut and mold, and has good resistance to all types of cold and hot solvents or reagents used to etch printed circuits or plated edges and vias.
